Matteo’s Gets Ready to Open

Supper Club owner Matt Woolston says his new Arden Park restaurant, Matteo’s Pizza & Bistro, will open by the end of September.

On the menu: pizza, pasta and grilled dishes, plus an extensive lineup of beers (both tap and bottled) and wines.

Woolston and his wife, Yvette, have spent the summer renovating the old Steve’s Pizza restaurant in the Five Points shopping center, at the corner of Fair Oaks Boulevard and Arden Way. It will have seating for 110, including bar and patio seating. The restaurant will serve lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Matteo’s is the latest high-profile pizzeria to open in the Sacramento region. Earlier this summer, The Waterboy’s Rick Mahan opened OneSpeed in East Sacramento. It joinedHot Italian in midtown and Masullo in Land Park.

The Woolstons will continue to own and operate own Supper Club, which serves high-end, single-seating, fixed-price dinners a couple of nights a week. Matteo’s marks their entry into the affordable-dining category.
